We use the Home Inspector Pro reporting system affording our clients the best available report and information that will be incredibly useful for understanding, maintaining and re-selling their home. The report is usually completed within a few hours of the inspection, and delivered to the client by email.

How long have you been in business?
We have been Inspecting homes, testing for Radon, performing water tests for over 33 years. Our owner Steve Gladstone has been National President of the American Society of Home Inspectors and President of both CT Chapters and a Director of the CT Association of Home Inspectors. He has been seen on Ask this old House, written The Field Guide to Home Inspection , and has been on the radio for over 15 years with his show "Around the House with Steve Gladstone on WGCH 1490 or www.wgch.com streaming Saturday mornings 8am-10.
What is your primary product or service?
We are the best looking home inspectors in Fairfield and Westchester Counties ! Protecting our clients for over 33 years. We are very picky and only concerned that you get objective, helpful, honest information about your new home that will lead to good decisions and peace of mind. We want you to ask questions and learn about your home as we go room by room, plug by plug and we do test appliances, climb on roofs and give you a comprehensive photo report.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Realtor's would complain how the inspectors they referred did not spend the time educating their clients, missed important items, or generally did a shoddy report or did not deliver the reports in a timely fashion. We were amazed by this and promised that our service to their clients would be top shelf. In fact if a client was unhappy we would not accept a fee. How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Anyone can do less for less... we provide intensive, comprehensive inspections on site... photo reports over fifty pages with captions under the photos. We teach and explain home maintenance, stress home safety and offer help with after sale telephone consultation for free forever.
we have National Certification for performing radon testing using state of the art Continuous Monitors, Steve has his Supervisory license for pests and termites. We do Mold/Voc, Formaldehyde, Water Quality and bring in Techs from New England Total Energy to fully evaluate the HVAC systems.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We cover most of Lower Fairfield County and the Southeastern portions of Westchester County. We have inspectors in Newtown, Stamford, Naugatuck , Meridan & Middletown.
What type of payments do you accept?
We are happy to accept cash or personal checks. Credit card processing has gotten out of hand and so we urge you to write a check and save the add on fees.
Which areas do you service?
Fairfield and Westchester Counties. But if you need a referral for an ASHI certified inspector referral elsewhere, we are happy to give you names of exceptional home inspectors in other areas.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Stonehollow, Inc. is a family run business. Owned entirely by Stephen & Sandi Gladstone. Stephen Gladstone, ACI (ASHI Certified Inspector) has his Supervisory Pest License, An SP-1 Pool License, and runs the only School for Home Inspectors located in CT. (N.E.School of Home Inspection). His sons Matthew Gladstone, ACI & Mark Gladstone are inspectors in the Company . Daughter Jaime Wilkes answers the phones and runs the office. Lead inspector Jason Horn, ACI and Inspector Naoki Hirabayashi, ACI round out the firm as well as a number of Interns who are learning and working with Stonehollow to achieve their CT licenses.
What are your hours of operation?
We are open 8-8 and do inspections 7 Days a week. If you find the home of your dreams on a Friday chances are good we can do the inspection within your window of need and get a report in your hands quickly and efficiently.
